Fishing Report for week of 9/11 to 9/17

As fall is coming and temperatures are dropping, it is time for the fish to put on their feedbags.

The bluegills and perch bite is HOT right now and will continue to be good through out the coming weeks

Fall sauger/walleye trips should start in the next week or so, depending on how the water temperature drops and shad begin to move around. MORE to come on this bite next week.

Captain Mike

Founder. All Season Guide. Pro Walleye Tournament Angler.

Mike McCormick is a full-time charter captain and fishing guide for McCormick’s River Guide Service. He is a US Coast Guard licensed 200 Master Captain, WI Licensed Guide, and Tournament Angler from Lacrosse, WI.

His passion for fishing led him to start a guide service in 2012. Being able to combine tournament fishing (he has had multiple top ten tournament finishes and won the 2018 Cabela’s National Walleye Team Championship) and guiding (teaching others how and where to find the best fish) makes what he does the ultimate DREAM JOB.

Captain Mark

Mark Knapmiller guides for McCormicks river guide service in the winter. Mark is a US Coast guard certified captain and licensed guide.

During the summer he co owns and operates Schafers Marine Services LLC, which operates on pools 6-10 of the Mississippi River and surrounding bodies of water. Mark grew up locally and has fished the river his whole life and now spends the majority of the year either working or fishing on the river. Being on the water most of the year helps tremendously with the ever changing river system.

Had a great day on the Ice. It was my 1st time fishing the river. Our guide did a great job finding the fish (had to move a time or 2) and the airboat used to move us around was a cool experience. Talked a lot about responsible fishing and learned a bunch about what this group is doing to protect the health of the local lakes/rivers in addition to putting rookies like me on fish!
